Emerald Sod Farms Turfgrass Installation Projects

Our turf grass sod is certified weed and disease free by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and our sod is also certified to be free of the Japanese beetle.

Call us and let us help you with your turf grass sod needs. We’ve gone as far as Big Sky, Montana, on projects and we’ve also done work in Iowa, New Mexico, and Nevada, as well as Colorado. No project is too large or too small.

We’ve been very pleased to work with so many turf professionals on these projects over the years. With most of projects, the project superintendent, general contractor, or the golf course architect has visited Emerald Sod Farms to inspect and approve the grass we’re growing. We welcome people to come out and inspect our sod before they buy it! Here are a few of the many highly successful Emerald Sod Farms projects.

Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. We were honored to be selected to provide over three million square feet of sod to renovate this National Cemetery and the project is ongoing. Emerald Sod Farms is delivering and installing our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass.

Cornerstone Golf, Montrose, Colorado. (Western Slope) This Greg Norman course is located 350 miles from our farm, and we cut, hauled and installed over four million square feet of special blend of Kentucky bluegrass sod, plus bentgrass, for the approaches to the putting greens and some of the bentgrass for the greens. In October 2008, Golfweek Magazine called this course the best new golf course and the #2 new course in the United States.

The Broadmoor Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Broadmoor is the oldest Five-Star hotel resort in the Country. It has three golf courses and Emerald Sod Farms does renovation and improvement work on all of these courses, plus practice facilities and driving ranges.

Shadow Creek Golf Course, Las Vegas, Nevada. Emerald Sod Farms provided all of the bentgrass for this beautiful Tom Fazio-designed course.

Greg Norman Course at Red Sky Ranch, Wolcott, Colorado. (just west of Vail). We custom-grew our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and also custom grew bentgrass for the approaches around the putting greens. We solid-sodded the entire golf course of over 100 acres, which was probably over 4.5 million square feet of sod. Emerald Sod Farms provided both delivery and sod installation services for this project.

Grand Elk Ranch and Golf Club, Granby, Colorado. We did this project in the 1999/2000 time period. We also solid-sodded this course -- providing both delivery and installation services for this project. Our Emerald Sod Farms blend of Kentucky bluegrass and our bentgrass were used for this installation.

Tom Fazio Course at Red Sky Ranch, Wolcott, Colorado. (just west of Vail). We provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass, which works well in the Rocky Mountains and has been proven time and time again. Tom Fazio is one of the top golf course architects in the World, and he specifically selected Emerald Sod Farms turfgrass sod for this golf course installation.

Cordillera Mountain Golf Course, Edwards, Colorado. (west of Vail) This was the first golf course in the Country to be solid-sodded and we did that project in 1993. This was a Hale Irwin design along with Dick Phelps. Again, Emerald Sod Farms provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and we custom-grew bentgrass for most of the putting greens.

Cordillera Valley Golf Club, Edwards, Colorado. (Along I-70). This is another Tom Fazio designed course that we did after the Cordillera Mountain Course in 1995, and we custom-grew some fine bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, and fescue for the Course. Again, we solid-sodded the complete golf course.

Cordillera Summit Golf Course, Edwards, Colorado. This course is above the Mountain Course at Cordillera and the mean elevation is almost 9,000 feet. Cordillera Summit Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, and we provided our special Emerald Sod Farms blend of Kentucky bluegrass for him as well as some bentgrass. This project was completed in 2000.

The Short Course at Cordillera, Edwards, Colorado. This project was completed in 1995 and was designed by Dave Pelz, a renowned golf instructor from Austin, TX, who specializes in teaching the short game. The Short Course was built right next to the lodge at Cordillera, which has an incredible view of the valley in both directions. This is a par three executive course, with 10 holes, designed to help golfers with their short game. Again, we solid-sodded the entire golf course with our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass, and we also provided some bentgrass.

The Ridge at Castle Pines Golf Course, Castle Rock, Colorado. We did this project in 1997/1998, and used our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and we did tees, putting greens and bunker complexes by sodding around these features to retain the integrity of the dirt work.

Highlands Ranch Golf Course, Littleton, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass. We sodded around the tees, greens, and bunker complexes and also on the heavy slopes around the course. This project was completed in 1998.

Catamount Ranch Club at Steamboat Springs, Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This is a beautiful Tom Weiskopf championship golf course you’ll see coming out of Rabbit Ears Pass on your way into Steamboat Springs. We were chosen to solid-sod this course, and we provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and also bentgrass.

Maroon Creek at Aspen Golf Course, Aspen, Colorado. This project was completed by Emerald Sod Farms in 1994/1995. This is a Tom Fazio designed course. At the time, this was the largest project we had ever done, and we solid-sodded over 4.5 million square feet of our special blend of Kentucky bluegrass and some bentgrass for the greens. This course is located right next to the Buttermilk Ski Resort and the Aspen airport.

The Broadlands Golf Course, Broomfield, Colorado. This project was done for Landscapes Unlimited. We provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and some bentgrass for this course. Emerald Sod Farms provided delivery and sod installation for this project.

Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Course, Aurora Colorado. This course is located right off E-470 and was completed in 1999. This is a very nice layout on the plains southeast of Denver and we provided our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass for this project. Emerald Sod Farms did both delivery and sod installation for this fine course.

The Heritage at Westmoor Golf Course, Westminster, Colorado, near Broomfield. The Heritage at Westmoor, is an 18-hole public course built on 205 acres. The $9.5 million course was designed by Michael Hurdzan from Hurdzan-Fry Architects of Columbus, Ohio, and we worked with Niebur Golf of Colorado Springs, CO, on this project. Emerald Sod Farms provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and we sodded the tees, putting greens and bunker complexes.

The River Course at Keystone, Keystone, Colorado. Again, Emerald Sod Farms worked with Niebur Golf of Colorado Springs, CO, on this project. This was a solid-sod project located next to the Keystone Ranch Golf Course, which we have also worked on. We provided our special blend of Kentucky bluegrass, plus bentgrass for the putting greens.

The Old Mile High Stadium, Denver, Colorado. From 1990 through 1995, Emerald Sod Farms provided all of the sod and resodding, plus all the patchwork for Mile High Stadium. We grew a special variety of grass for this installation. We would do the resodding and patchwork in the middle of the night and used a special sod cutter to provide the 2-inch-thick sod required for the installation.

Bennett High School Baseball Field, Bennett, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms provided the installation and delivery of Kentucky bluegrass sod for the Bennett baseball field, free of charge, in memory of Matthew Foley, a Bennett High School graduate and baseball player.

Anheuser Busch Brewery, Fort Collins, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms solid-sodded all around the Brewery and sodded the paddock and turnout areas for the famed Anheuser Busch Clydesdales. Again we furnished our special blend of Kentucky bluegrass for this project.

Cotton Ranch Golf Course, Gypsum, Colorado (west of Denver). Again, we worked with Niebur Golf of Colorado Springs on this project. Emerald Sod Farms provided delivery and installation services for the tees, putting greens, bunker complexes and heavy slopes around the course. Cotton Ranch Golf Course is designed by Pete Dye. We used our proven blend of Kentucky bluegrass that we’ve proven over the years works well in the Rocky Mountains, Front Range and surrounding areas.

Eagle Ranch Golf Course, Eagle, Colorado (west of Denver). This is an Arnold Palmer designed course. We provided delivery and installation of our four-way bend of Kentucky bluegrass.

Divide at Kings Deer Golf Course, Monument, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass. The plays like a Scottish links golf course.

Channel 9 News Facility (KUSA), Denver, Colorado. Channel 9 goes outside to provide the weather to viewers and wanted to sod the roof of its facility for a weather broadcast venue. Emerald Sod Farms delivered a turf-type tall fescue and hand-carried a truckload of sod up three flights of stairs for installation on the roof.

Auraria Campus, Denver, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms provided delivery and installation of its special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass.

Black Bear Golf Course, Parker, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms installed our special blend of Kentucky bluegrass for tees, putting greens, bunker complexes and slopes. This is a unique course with great views of the mountains.

Town of Kremmling Sports Complex, Kremmling, Colorado. In 2000, the Town of Kremmling asked Emerald Sod Farms to deliver and install sod for two baseball fields and one softball field. It took over 150,000 square feet of sod to complete the project, and we used our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass. The Town of Kremmling wanted the project done as quickly as possible so we did all of the installation in one day!

Buffalo Run Golf Course, Commerce City, Colorado (located right next to Emerald Sod Farms). We worked with Niebur Golf of Colorado Springs on this project in 1995, and we delivered and installed our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass. This is a nice British links public golf course that’s a Keith Foster design.

TCI Business Complex, Denver, Colorado (located off E-470). There is a courtyard in the center of the Complex. We delivered and installed our sod by using our portable forklifts to move the sod into an elevator to go up to the courtyard level. Again, we provided our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass for this project.

Southern Hills Middle School, Boulder, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms provided delivery and installation of our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass for the entire school campus.

Fitzmorris Elementary School, Arvada, Colorado. Emerald Sod Farms installed our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass for the school campus.

Riverdale Elementary School, Northglenn, Colorado (near Boulder). We delivered and installed our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass over the entire school campus.

Rock Creek Park, Minturn-Red Cliff, Colorado (near Boulder). This was a two million square foot sod delivery and installation project, which was the largest turf type tall fescue sod installation project ever done!

Ft. Lupton High School, Ft. Lupton, Colorado (near Brighton). We provided sod delivery and installation for the entire high school campus and the football field using our special four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass, and we did the entire installation in ONE DAY!

Ray Ross Park, Lakewood, Colorado (near Denver). Emerald Sod Farms provided our four-way blend of Kentucky bluegrass and delivery and installation services.
